Because everyone here seems to love watchlists. The Wuerrfel Award is for outstanding community service and everyone here knows what the Biletnikoff award is for.

Team release for Robertson is here:

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Cal sophomore wide receiver Demetris Robertson was named Tuesday by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation Inc. to the preseason watch list for the 2017 Biletnikoff Award for the honor that annually recognizes the outstanding receiver in college football. Any player regardless of position who catches a pass is eligible for the award

Robertson is one of nine (ten) Cal players currently on a preseason watch list heading into the 2017 season with the others Matt Anderson (Lou Groza Collegiate Place-kicker Award), Steven Coutts (Ray Guy Award), Raymond Davison (Allstate Good Works Team® Nominee, Wuerffel Trophy), Devante Downs (Butkus Award), James Looney (Bronko Nagurski Trophy), Addison Ooms (Rimington Trophy), Cameron Saffle (Lott IMPACT Trophy) and Tre Watson (Paul Hornung Award). (And Ray Hudson, who they keep leaving out)

Robertson is a national preseason honors candidate for several awards honoring the nation's most outstanding player overall as well as its top offensive player and wide receiver in his second season at Cal in 2017 after jumping into the spotlight in his first season at Cal as a true freshman in 2016 when he earned several freshman All-American honors from Campus Insiders, ESPN.com, Phil Steele and USA Today. Robertson, who also picked up Cal's Bob Simmons Award as its Most Valuable Freshman, totaled 50 receptions, 767 receiving yards and seven touchdown catches (all second on the team behind fourth-round 2017 NFL Draft pick Chad Hansen) while playing in all 12 regular-season games and making 11 starts. Robertson broke Cal freshman records by DeSean Jackson for receiving yards set in 2005 and Keenan Allen for receptions established in 2011 while equaling Jackson's Cal freshman mark in touchdown receptions also recorded in 2005. Robertson finished among the nation's top freshmen in receiving touchdowns (2nd), receiving yards per game (3rd, 63.9), receiving yards (3rd), yards per reception (6th, team-high 15.3), receptions (7th) and receptions per game (8th).

And here's the bit on Davison

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – Cal senior inside linebacker Raymond Davison was named Tuesday to the watch list for the Wuerffel Trophy that honors players for their community service work. The preseason honor is the second for Davison recognizing his efforts in the community. Last Tuesday, he was announced as Cal's nominee for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®.

Davison has consistently visited local schools and community organizations as part of the award-winning community service activities of the Cal football team. Schools and community organizations Davison has spent time with include Bret Harte Middle School, Kaiser Elementary, La Escuelita, Lincoln Elementary, Manzanita Community, Manzanita Seed, Markham Elementary, Murphy Elementary, Parker Elementary, Stege Elementary and West Oakland Middle School.

On the field, Davison has played in 35 career games with 16 starts to rank second among the team's active defensive players in both categories. He heads into his 2017 senior season second among active Cal players with 111 career tackles while he has added 3.0 tackles for loss (-4 yards), one interception that he returned for 39 yards and a touchdown, four pass breakups and one fumble recovery. Davison had a career-high 69 tackles and Cal's lone interception return for a touchdown as a 2016 junior.
