Hey guys, 2017 commit Jemarl Baker, Jr. opened up to me about his feelings about Cal. The full article I'll write later tonight after I watch some of these March Madness games, but for now, here are some of the key things to know.
#1. He remains committed to Cal. I asked him if he's still committed to Cal and he said, "Yes."
#2. He told me "I'm definitely more committed to the staff than I am to the school."
#3. He is unsure what he would do if Cuonzo Martin doesn't stay. On re-opening his recruitment, he told me "I'm actually not sure yet. That would be something I would have to talk about with my parents, but that's a possibility."
#4. He still believes Cal is a place where he can compete: "Yes for sure. If it wasn't for the injuries, then we would've been able to make a big run in the tournament."
#5. He says the coaching staff has reached out to him during this past week: "Yes. Just making sure I'm still on board."
#6. I told him that he's been a champ to answer these tough questions, so I asked him Kobe or LeBron to close it out. He told me, "Kobe!"
