We finished strong, or so it seemed, at the end of last year. But did we?
Let's look at YPC and sack % RELATIVE to our competition.
Oregon State: 6.7 ypc and sacks on 4.5% of attempts. Beavers allowed 5.1ypc and got sacks on 4.6%
Stanford: 4.3 ypc and sacks on 3.5% of attempts. Stanford allowed 4.3 ypc and got sacks on 7.2%
Arizona State: 6.3 ypc and sacks on 0% of attempts. ASU allowed 3.6 ypc and got sacks on 8.9% of attempts
Air Force: 3.5 ypc and sacks on 2.5% of attempts. AF allowed 4.2 ypc and got sacks on 9.6% of attempts
Conclusion, we outperformed in every game save for AF on the ground. Pass protection clearly was very, very good at the end of the year. Running the ball was less consistent but still solid.
