So, what this shuffling should be about-Cal pouncing on assistants! Is there any of the defensive coaches that, if gone, you will lose sleep over? Is there a Pac-12 school who didn't get some kind of school record off of the Cal defense over the last 3 years??
Make a bold move-some of the lame ducks are going to look at Cal as a "bird in the hand" and maybe even cost a few dollars less than they would otherwise. Sure, Ed Oregeron might wait to follow Myles, but maybe Les will take a year off, so, "hey Ed-come to Cal, be D-coordinator, and fill out your staff." The SC guys aren't necessarily going to get retained by whomever new comes in-go grab their D-Coordinator, or maybe look to promote one of the D position guys to Coordinator...the door is open. Mainly, hire the one who is the best West Coast Recruiter!
