Take aside the talent mismatch for a second. Cal has a couple of unique problems in preparing for the Rainbows.
First their new head coach/OC has been both a run and shoot and a pistol devotee. We will have no film of the scheme he's going to install and are going to be pushed to prepare for quite different looks. I expect early in the game our defense may struggle before it makes adjustments.
Defensively, Hawaii's DC comes from Boston College which has had the nations best defense over the past few years. Cal will watch BC film to help prepare and certainly Hawaii doesn't have BCs talent but then again BC doesn't have great defensive talent either.
