Good
Not So Good
Conclusion: Regardless of the competition, we looked better than Arizona, Colorado, Utah, OSU, Washington, WSU, and Stanford. UCLA looked good, ASU and Oregon so-so. We'll see on USC. Based on this, I think we have a real chance this year to compete against virtually every team and perhaps be favored against many; if we had Stanford's schedule, I think we'd have a shot for it all in the Pac-12 (yes, I've drunk the kool-ade). As it is, let me go out on a limb and say I think we'll do all right.
- Run defense looked very good.
- Secondary played hard, made tackles, and ball hawked. Cam Walker had a great game.
- Muhammad had an exceptional game.
- Goff is incredible.
- Kicking game looked good.
Not So Good
- Pass blocking is troubling.
- Pass rush is better but will never be a difference maker IMO.
- Run-pass balance was off. Lasco needs more touches; that was poor play calling IMO.
- I still think we spread the ball around too much. Instead of 8 WRs catching balls, it should be 4. Lawler and Treggs should always have at least 8 catches a game.
- Why do we always fair catch on punts? It takes away a big opportunity IMO.
