I’m watching 2021 games, and seeing Garbers vs Oregon and Colorado and Oregon State has me remembering why I loved Garbers. I think we are gonna miss some of his intangibles and his guts and definitely the option plays and the scrambling.
But then watching UW and TCU and UCLA reveals the frustrations with short yard passes and outs into the flat. And poor decision making.
I do wonder whether Plummer would have had much success last year as well. Seems doubtful.
Our WRs and TEs, combined with Ott in the backfield, are (hopefully) going to give us more explosiveness. Alternatively, what happens if Garbers has a WR room with more separation?
Watching these games and seeing Hunter all season — and Latu in Colorado especially — makes me wonder why we didn’t give all our frosh talent more snaps.
