Enjoyed seeing this weekends visitors and their Cal player hosts at the St. Marys Game. Got to catch up briefly with James Looney and Drew. Positive energy all the way around. Drew is yoked. Not sure I've seen a better put together 5'11" FB player - He's every bit 200lbs. Told me he would be 100% for the bowl game and that they are fired up to play.
One thing I really like about Dykes process with recruits is the involvement of former players. Marshawn Lynch was around and met with kids on a previous weekend and we saw our recent WR commit in a pic with Andre Carter from this weekend. Great stuff.
One thing that will be telling for us is how well we're doing early with 2017 recruits. They got to see with a winning season and a bowl game. Dykes and staff have ostensibly been working on their HS coach relationships for 3 years now. Academics will no longer be used against for negative recruiting against us (after APR is published in a bit) and we're going to have 3-4 kids legitimately involved in the NFL draft process this Spring. Need to step things up in terms of top talent deeply engaged in 2017
