I was encouraged to hear him speak about not taking too many early commits and wanting to watch players senior years before offering them. His example of Texas being done recruiting in February with supposedly a top 5 recruiting class only to see how many of those kids didn't pan out is an excellent one in my opinion.
Good to hear that there's strong interest in our WR coaching opening and that several of our injured players are ahead of schedule - Piatt, Moore and McClure.
I would agree with this view of how much we improved during the Spring from first practice to last and how much stronger, faster and athletic we are when comparing film to a year ago.
There was also some self awareness when it talked about teams like Oregon bouncing back from the loss of a Mariota. His remark that those teams know how to win and are confident they will win is spot on. Sonny recognizes thats the next big step for this Cal program. They have to learn to win and they have to believe they will win. We were competitive last year but we weren't winners. That's what 2015 is all about for our Bears - learning to win.
