Round 5 (No. 180): Camryn Bynum, CB, Cal
The Golden Bears fielded an impressive defensive turnaround in recent years and Bynum was a key part of that. Though the 6-foot Bynum isn’t blazing fast (4.56 40-yard dash), his six career college interceptions are indicative of an instinctive player who can develop into a contributor in the 49ers’ secondary.The team won’t need an immediate starter, especially if it drafts an instantly usable depth piece like Molden in the second round. That’d offer leeway for a lower-round pick like Bynum to settle in and prove himself behind what the 49ers hope is a ferocious pass rush.
