The Chronicle reported today that USC head coach Clay Helton has hired his brother, Tyson, as running backs coach and passing game coordinator (not sure what the latter term means), and Neil Callaway as offensive line coach. Tyson Helton (age 38) and Callaway (age 60) coached at Western Kentucky (12-2) this last season. The report did not say who Helton let go. I assume that SC had the full allotment of assistant coaches (nine?) prior to hiring these two guys, so two other guys must surely have had to depart.
