Playing against a top 10 team coming off a bye week on the road at altitude at night with lots of pressure on Game Day in a stadium that is very hard to play in. Against a mobile QB, which always gives is trouble, playmakers with some speed, which is bad for us, a team that is very disciplined, which also usually gives us trouble, with a talented defensive front against our suspect OL, and very good special teams against our unit that has a multitude of issues. So how do we win? An easy answer is we can't.

Several ideas that might help:

If we win the flip, defer (for goodness sakes)
Fake a handoff on the third and short heavy set run up the middle with Enwere and throw downfield; pretty please
Throw deep as often as we can; we need short drives and I think we can beat them deep
Use mis-direction something we've done little of to slow their pass rush
Dust off the trick play book to lessen our predictability
Blitz safeties more; we need pressure and big plays on defense
Do everything you can to stop the run and take your chances they can't throw against us

The safe bet is that we won't win because of the aforementioned points but I think we will do some of the above to give us a chance.

And really, when you think about it, isn't that what we've always wanted? A chance? If we win this game, we will be bowl bound, ranked in the top 15 or higher, and in the driver's seat for winning the Pac-12 North. It is an opportunity. That's a big deal in my mind even if we can't take advantage of it. I really hope we do because I really like this team and want them to succeed. We shall see.
