And that will foretell a very positive 2015 season as I believe SDSU will be among the top 4-5 defenses we will face all year.
A.) I think we don't lose the STs battle badly enough to hurt us - meaning KR and PR won't be a huge factor for them and we won't make any big mistakes here
B.) I believe we will be at worst even in the TO battle. Their QB + OL + WR are far more likely to make bad mistakes leading to turnovers so even if their defense is the stronger ball hawking group, we don't end up behind the eight ball here
C.) Our offense is a juggernaut. I could easily see this game being close halfway through the 3rd quarter. After that our tempo and our ability to adjust to whatever they throw at Goff will result in an Oregon style cavalcade of points late
D.) I think our run defense will put them in a lot of 3rd and 4+ yards and that will lead to TOs and punts. I don't see them being able to keep our offense off the field with their running game.
E.) Gut feel says we don't overlook them yet come in confident and energized.
F.) I like our playmakers Goff, Lasco, Lawler, Treggs and Davis better than theirs (Price and Pumphrey)
G.) While Long's defensive schemes and player development may cause us some headaches early, I think many of those are going to be overcome by Goff's ability to audible and read defenses.
