Cal Rugby Win Over BYU - Even More Impressive Looking Back...

So apparently BYU will (likely) no longer compete in the Varsity Cup competition (the premier collegiate league in the US) - http://www.goffrugbyreport.com/news/byu-out-varsity-cup

Among some of the highlights from the aforementioned article:

BYU was under some scrutiny for the eligibility of some of their players. One player, Nic Purcell, actually played in the NFL and is 30 years old
According to some sources... BYU was also slated to receive some sanction from the Varsity Cup, and would likely have the team's 2015 championship vacated.

Basically this just further validates that BYU has not been competing on a level playing field for the past several years. It makes Cal's triumph in this year's championship over them all the more impressive.
