A month ago, there was little mention of Cal football and Jared Goff. One had to search for a national story.
Over the last three days, we have a witnessed a media ramp up like never before seen for Cal football. First there were the stories about our winning record and Heisman hopeful Jared Goff. Now, with the presumed favorites (USC last night, Oregon, UCLA, and ASU ) falling by the wayside, ESPN management realizes the possibilities for Cal and Goff, and they have switched on the exposure accelerator to the max. There are multiple stories on Cal running around the clock on all their platforms.
Beyond ESPN promoting it's game of the week on Sat. evening, ESPN sees a legitimate Heisman hopeful golden boy with marketability. Long term, they see Jared Goff as an NFL property and the promotion starts now. This is great news for Cal (recruiting, attendance, jersey sales, etc..). A win on Sat. really starts the party which hopefully lasts the next twelve weeks into January. Go Bears!
