If the season started this week, we would be starting a 5th year walk on RT who in the Spring Game and in spot duty the last two seasons has looked very challenged. Alongside him would be a true frosh RG, even if said person is huge, strong and athletic.
It's rare to see a 5th year walk on suddenly become an above average P12 OL. He has gained weight and we did see Austin Clark pull off the trick last year on the DL.
Semisi is clearly the real deal based on comments from the DL and coaches. Yet, knowing the playbook, the audibles, the snap counts (no false starts), the pressure of playing big time football, etc are all risky.
I will sweat this one and will be paying particular attention to the OL when I view the full pad practice on Saturday.
